A few things jumped out at me recently that I thought were interesting or fun or strange, and I hope you might feel the same way.
A Dozen Affordable Eggs from The Ordinary
The affordable skincare brand, The Ordinary, a Canadian brand that was sold to The Estee Lauder Group, is based in New York City (though sold on their website as well as at Ulta, Sephora, Target, Nordstrom, and Amazon). This past weekend, they hosted a creative promotion in their Manhattan stores to help the people of the Big Apple with the severe shortage of eggs (as well as to get people into their stores to shop!). In response to the fact that eggs have been sold out at so many food stores, they were selling The Ordinary branded eggs for “the ordinary price” of $3.37 per dozen. I imagine that they limited the number of dozens you could buy like most other retailers, but $3.37 sounds good to me!

The eggs were sold this past weekend only at The Ordinary’s retail stores in Manhattan at:
- 26 Prince St. in Nolita
- 475 Fifth Ave. in Midtown.
Kind of an odd gimmick, but I think it was a smart play to get folks in the door!
Printemps Open In NYC
The luxury French department store, Printemps (“Printemps” means Spring in French), recently opened its doors at One Wall St. in Manhattan for those seeking “a premium shopping experience”. While most department stores are going out of business, Printemps is bucking the trend by opening their first “Not A Department Store” in the U.S., Printemps New York.

The new retail center opened last week in the above Art Deco building in lower Manhattan.
In addition to shopping for:

- clothing
- shoes
- handbags
- accessories
- beauty
- jewelry
- home,
the “experience” also includes:
- a Jean-Paul Gaultier exhibit and events that will change over time
- a spa
- an atelier and repair shop where you can have clothing altered or remade, both new and something you already own
- consultations for personal clothing shopping, makeup & skincare, fragrance profiling and more
- culinary experiences at 5 different restaurants: Red Room Bar, Maison Passerelle, Cafe Jalu, Salon Vert, and Champagne Bar
Although the store does not only sell French brands, they are well-represented, including new French designers. In addition, there are some brands that are exclusive to the New York-based emporium. What I think it very cool is that they will be selling ready-to-wear, haute couture, and vintage items!
My only question about their launch website is that there are no live links as yet. I checked out the brands they will be carrying, and since I wasn’t familiar with quite a few of them, I wanted to check them out, but now there’s no way to do it! Hopefully, that will come soon.
It’s been decades since I visited Printemps in Paris, but I would certainly love to go to the new New York Printemps experience it in person! How about you?
Spring Cleaning Sale: $10 Products at CoverFX
Recently, I think I mentioned the Spring Cleaning Sale at CoverFX. Well, now it’s even better. $10 Best Selling Products including my personal favorite Total Cover Cream Foundation,
iconic Custom Enhancer Drops and $15 kits, too.

I’m not sure how long the sale is on, and it may be over today, but it’s worth a look. Mother’s Day is coming up before we know it, so if you’re looking for affordable gifts for any occasion, CoverFX is a good place to start.
