Last month, I was introduced to Ellixi Beauty, a local (Massachusetts), women-owned brand that is sold on the Ellixi Beauty website. In addition to their on-site Glamour Nites, hands-on events where you create your own beauty products with your friends in a fun, interactive setting, they handcraft skincare, haircare, body care, and fragrance products that are:
- waterless!
- 95% organic
- contain 5 or fewer ingredients
- fresh and preservative-free (they have a shelf-life of about 6 months)
- cruelty-free
- easily recyclable and made without plastic: packaged in aluminum tins or heavy glass
- lovely scented, naturally fragranced products containing essential oils.
I was sent several of their products to try out. Today, I will tell you about three of them, and I will review the fourth soon.
Waterless Formulations
Do you ever look at cosmetics’ ingredient lists? I do, and often I am floored by the number of ingredients. Although I almost always look up the ingredients I am not familiar with, I usually can’t remember what they do from usage occasion to usage occasion. Not only do I appreciate that Ellixi Beauty’s products contain 5 or fewer ingredients, they are all ingredients that I know!
Importantly, when I often look at cosmetics’ ingredient lists, the first ingredient is usually “water/agua/eau” or water in English, Spanish and French! If water is the first ingredient in the list, that means that water is the primary ingredient in the product by weight. One of the reasons that I do fewer giveaways these days is that it is so expensive to mail or ship cosmetics that contain water. Literally, you are paying for cosmetics companies to ship you water with some ingredients added in. Not so great when you think of it that way.
Crisp & Clean Cream Deodorant
First, Ellixi’s Crisp & Clean Cream Deodorant reminds me of old school Creamsicles! When I opened the aluminum tin containing the cream deodorant, the scent was a wonderful trip down memory land! Because it contains Bergamot Essential Oil that is a citrusy scent, the soft orange fragrance took me back to days of running after the ice cream truck!
The other ingredients in the Cream Deodorant are:
- shea butter for smoothness and soft skin
- baking soda and cornstarch to absorb moisture and neutralize odor.
That’s it: shea butter, baking soda, cornstarch, and Bergamot essential oil.
I use a scoop to scoop out a little deodorant. Next, I place half of the deodorant on my finger to warm it up a bit and then apply it to my underarm area. Then I repeat on the other side. Ellixi Beauty Crisp & Clean Cream Deodorant is perfect for sensitive skin, and I can apply it after shaving and drying my skin with no issues at all.
The citrusy scent doesn’t linger, but the Cream Deodorant is effective for me throughout the day.
The 1 oz. Cream Deodorant container is sold on the Ellixi Beauty website for $16. The shelf life once the tin is opened is 9 months.
Care should be taken not to allow water to get into the Cream Deodorant container in order to preserve product quality and efficacy.
Limoncello Body Scrub
Ellixi Beauty really has it down when it comes to fragrances! I absolutely adore the Limoncello Body Scrub. The fresh lemon scent is exhilarating! I wish they had a limoncello body wash as well, because I would use that in a heartbeat! The lemon fragrance is like sniffing a lemon tree or a freshly cut lemon. Love love love it!
Body Scrub by Ellixi Beauty also comes in 10 other scents (that I haven’t tried yet):
- Lavender & Sage
- Coconut Cream
- Apple Spice
- Fresh Grapefruit
- Orange Blossom
- Candied Ginger
- Soft Rose
- Iced Latte

Yum! They all sound delicious!
The 5 ingredients in Limoncello include:
- Raw Sugar: Provides gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and reveal softer, smoother skin
- Sea Salt: Detoxifies and exfoliates, promoting improved skin texture and circulation
- Coconut Oil: Hydrates and nourishes, leaving the skin feeling soft and supple
- Lemon Essential Oil: Brightens and revitalizes the skin while offering a refreshing, citrusy aroma
- Vanilla Extract: Adds a warm, comforting fragrance and contains antioxidants to help protect the skin
First, stir the Body Scrub before you use it. The coconut oil settles in the heavy glass jar, and it needs to be mixed throughout the Sea Salt/Raw Sugar mixture. I use Ellixi Body Scrub in the shower, so it’s easy to rinse my body before using the scrub. Then, I scoop out a small amount of scrub using a little scoop. Honestly, I love the lemony scent so much, I could almost go through the entire jar during one shower! But instead I use the small amount on areas that need exfoliation like my elbows, heels, and occasionally my knees. I use circular movements to remove the dead skin, and then rinse. One of these days, I am going to give myself a hand treatment, using the Limoncello on my hands and then following up with hand lotion. (BTW, they carry Body Butters in matching scents.) After using Limoncello Body Scrub in the shower, my sometimes crispy, dry areas feel like baby skin!
Even though Ellixi Body Scrub contains plenty of coconut oil, it doesn’t make the floor of my tub too greasy. With some other body scrubs, I end up risking a fall on the slippery tub as I try to step out. To date, I haven’t had that problem with Ellixi Limoncello Body Scrub.
Ellixi Body Scrubs are sold on the website for $19 each. Each glass jar contains 4 oz. of scrub. The product shelf life is 6 months after opening. I love mine so much that I’ll be lucky if it lasts me 3 weeks!! I’m addicted to it.
Vegas Perfume
Vegas Perfume is one of 10 rollerball fragrances that Ellixi handcrafts. With the name Vegas, I was expecting a loud, strong scent much like Las Vegas itself. Well, I was wrong. Vegas is a delightful, light, floral-ish scent with a blend of chamomile and valerian essential oils. On me, it’s a calming bedtime fragrance.

The Vegas fragrance that I have can also be purchased in a 1 oz. solid perfume in an aluminum tin for $24. In addition, all of the perfumes can also be paired with matched scent perfume powders in a 6 oz. glass jar for $28. What a great way to extend your favorite scents especially in the summer, as the kaolin clay and arrowroot powder absorbs moisture and leave skin silky soft as well as extending the lastingness of the perfume oil!
